Steve McNair...Was It Worth It?

A man records a public announcement commercial on teen suicide only to die a couple weeks later of a murder suicide by someone who just left their teens. Ironic, huh?

Mr. McNair is found sitting on his couch, with 4 gunshot wounds - 2 in the head, 2 in his chest and the mistress with one in her head. When I first heard the reports, I immediately thought it was a murder-suicide. Although, statistically, it is very rare that a woman kills her husband and then kills herself and it's even more rare that a woman shoots herself in the head, it still had murder-suicide written all over it. It's now coming out that the mistress found out that he was 'cheating' on her with another woman. How a mistress feels like she's being 'cheated' on is beyond me, but that's what they're saying.

It's hard to ignore how ugly this tragic loss is. Steve McNair was a great football player as well as someone who gave back as much as he could. You would like to focus on all the good he's done but his death is like the elephant in the middle of the room. It's hard to ignore that it's big a** is standing there. The reality, that this seemingly great married man, is dead behind the hands of his mistress. His very YOUNG mistress. That's the other elephant in the room. What is a 36 year-old man doing with a 20 year-old? Just because she's of age by being over 18, it still makes me question what kind of man Steve McNair was.

The moral of this story is that no one really thinks of the after effects of infidelity and how many people it really reaches. How does Mechelle McNair grieve and move on? What will his children tell their children about how their grandfather died on the 4th of July, a holiday he should have been at home with his wife and kids grilling in their backyard.

At the end of the day, was it all really worth it?

  1. Girl, I was so disappointed when I heard that Steve McNair was killed and a twenty year old female was there. I automatically knew it was "personal" due to the head shoots. Some one was truly pissed off at him and I knew the female had done it. I learned that from the "First 48," that is shown on A&E station.

When are our men going to learn? That cheating is dangereous. Hopefully, they will learn. Unfortunately, Steve had to loose his life. People these days are so unstable. She was wrong to murder him, because we don't have the right to take anyones life.

This is so so ugly and I feel for his wife, mother and kids.
