College Football Hall of Fame is Moving

The National Football Foundation notified the city of South Bend, Indiana in a letter on September 22, 2009 that it is terminating its agreement with the city when its current lease ends on December 31, 2010 because of the lack of visitors it never seemed to attract.

Ya think?! Who the hell is going to South Bend to visit ANY College Hall of Fame? The location was a piss poor choice from the beginning. What's even out there?

Guess where the new home will be? That's right. Atlanta! After losing the NASCAR Hall of Fame and beating out Dallas for this Hall of Fame, this is a great win for Atlanta. The economic boost will be BANANAS!

Erin Andrews: Victim or Opportunist?

I wasn't going to say anything about this chic but I've held my tongue long enough.

We all know on July 16, 2009, a video posted on the site “NSFW POA” hinted that a naked blond woman videotaped through a hotel peephole was a popular sports personality. The next day, Andrews authorized her attorney to issue a statement via PRNewswire verifying that the woman in the video was she and that the video was made without her knowledge or consent.

Legal counsel for Andrews and ESPN acted quickly to both remove the video from sites that had posted it and work with authorities in an attempt to locate and prosecute the perpetrators of the privacy invasion. This incident was also heavily reported in the international media.

If this was done by someone, then yes, he or she should be punished. Not to the extremes that some of these fruitcakes have been talking about such as asking Prez Obama to change privacy laws. WTF?!?! But I don't believe it was done by anyone BUT the beautiful blond.

Why did Erin Andrews even make it known it was her?

DING! DING! DING!

Yup! You guessed it! Erin is an aspiring model.

The video of her showering was so grainy, YOU CAN NOT TELL ITS ANYONE except the fact its a women let alone Erin Andrews! So why let it out that it was you?

Since Andrews is an employee of the Disney Corporation, I’m sure that she can’t advertise her other interests or personal ventures while doing her job (that's a fact).

The ill intent perpetrated by those responsible (ehh hmm Erin) for the video is also acting as a big break for Andrews. She has turned this into a campaign opportunity without breaking any code of employment rule for Disney.

Just look at the opportunity to be on the Oprah Winfrey show; her name being a 'hot topic' on twitter; her name being highly searched on google and yahoo. What else is there to say about what happened? Other than to gain more publicity for herself.

Erin, good job sister! What a plan?! You're taking one for the team girl and riding this thing to the wheels fall off!

Oh yeah, Playboy Magazine has voted her the sexiest sportscaster in 2008 and 2009.

Serena, Venus and the Miami Dolphins?

Serena and Venus Williams will hopefully add another notch to their brand: football.
They are currently in talks to become part-owners of the NFL's Miami Dolphins.

This is big business and a great move. Tennis, clothing line, endorsements and now a stake in the NFL! If this goes through they will join Marc Anthony, Gloria and Emilio Estefan and Jimmy Buffett who became minority owners earlier this year.

"Venus and I are always trying to expand our brand," said Williams. "If the opportunity presents itself we would love to see where it can take us. Hopefully we'll be able to expand our brand."

I’m wondering now how many other women own NFL teams and it looks like the St. Louis Rams is owned by Georgia Frontiere, who inherited from her late husband.

That’s right Serena and Venus! Get that money!

Vick Soars With The Eagles!

Vick, once a number one draft pick in 2001 signed a 2 year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. For 1.6 million the first year with an option of it going to 5.2 the second, Vick will team up with Donovan McNabb who took the Eagles to the playoffs last year.

Although signed, Michael Vick still has a punishment to serve. He can participate in all preseason activities but good ole Goodell will not lift his suspension until October 18, 2009.

I look foward to getting that Eagles jersey. I'll wear it under my #81 Patriots jersey!

The T.O. Show

My girl Dee is going to kill me for reviewing this but she was taking to long. A couple of weeks ago I posted a hate letter to reality tv. I vowed I would never tune in (except to watch Project Runway) but I must retract that statement. I LOVE 'The T.O. Show'! LOVE IT!

There are the obvious reasons, like his body, which is SICK by the way and that dashing smile and that body...you get the point. I can look at T.O. from the neck down all day. But other than that chiseled frame, the show is actually good! It starts off with him getting cut from the Dallas Cowboys and how that effects him. Usually we see a very well written media response from a player that gets cut and never any real emotions. You could tell that Terrell was hurt by this news. Then here comes his homegirls turned Publicists/Assistants Mo and Kita to save the day. They jump right in to damage control.

The first two episodes of the season are good so far. He finds out he's going to Buffalo, moves to LA, links up with a prostitute Realtor and reaches out to his ex-fiance. His publicist has been on a search all her life to find her half sister and she finds her. You learn very quickly that there's a side of T.O. that the media will not show. Other than the cocky, confident, flirtatious T.O. the athlete, there's Terrell, a man. He's apologetic and admits how he treated his ex-fiance; he's not embarrassed to express his feelings; he desires real friendships and wants good people around him like his long time friend Pablo and Mo and Kita.

I can't wait for next week! Terrell finally sees his 'father' that he hasn't seen in over 20 years. It sounds like the man who abandoned his child was living across the street from Terrell his entire life. INTERESTING!

Terrell Speaks Out!

Finally, someone in the NFL has the courage to tell the leaders-that-be how they feel about the way Michael Vick has been treated. That someone is, you guessed it... Terrell Owens.

“I think it’s unfortunate,” Owens said. “I think the way the commissioner has handled it, I think it’s unfair to Michael Vick. I think he’s done the time for what he’s done. I don’t think it’s really fair for him to be suspended four more games. That’s almost like kicking a dead horse in the ground. I think a lot of guys around the league need to speak up. I think the players union needs to step in because the guy’s already suffered so much. To add a four-game suspension on a two-year prison sentence, that’s ridiculous.”

DAMN RIGHT, TERRELL!

I've expressed issue with the fact that other players didn't stand up and speak out. I especially had issue with Vick's teammates who said absolutely nothing. You can say what you want about Terrell. You hate him because he doesn't allow the NFL to control him. He's not their puppet and they can't silence him. Keep speaking your mind T.O.!

Where's The Buzz For Ben?

Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is charged with sexual assault and we barely hear a word. Regardless of how shady the facts may sound: 1) alleged assault happened over a year ago; 2) the absence of any criminal complaint or investigation; and 3) the timing of lawsuit, the fact still remains someone is accusing him of assault.

I'm actually totally against how the media takes a story and runs with it. I hate how they persecute through their vessel called 'journalism'. But if you do it for one, you should do it for all. They make sure certain athletes images are tainted and others are protected. When Kobe was accused of rape he was treated like a guilty assailant before the ink dried on the 'victim's' police report. Even when they found sperm from ANOTHER man on the alleged victim panties, the media still treated him like the Boston damn Strangler.

I typically hate using the 'race card' as most of you describe it (whatever the hell that means), but if this was Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan Mcnabb, how would this story been aired? SMH.

Rhodes Scholarship Or The NFL

The Rhodes Scholarship brings outstanding students from around the world to study at the prestigious Oxford University in England. For the most part, prospective students are selected by their literary and scholastic attainments; energy to use one’s talents to the full; truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for and protection of the weak; and moral force of character and instincts to lead.

You do not attain this distinction by accident, or by playing the 'dumb jock' role but by sedulous study from the minute you step foot on your campus to the Rhodes application process.

Myron Rolle, Florida State safety, earned the chance to study at Oxford. He also earned a spot as a top NFL Draft prospect. But most of you wouldn't know that because it's not scandal. It's not another Pacman Jones debacle. If Myron would have been interviewed for a gun charge that would have been all over the news but his interview where he tells the world that he desires to bring specialized medicine to underdeveloped countries barely gets a ticker spot on the 6 o'clock news. Nor does his 3.75 GPA or his announcement that he chooses to spend a year at Oxford studying medical anthropology over the NFL.

Yes, that's right. Myron Rolle delayed his NFL career to attend Oxford University.

"It's a great opportunity," Rolle told ESPN.com. "I'm going to get the chance to study at Oxford and read some incredible books and be among scholars. The whole culture in England is just very appealing. It will make me a better person and a stronger advocate."

He's the epitome of 'student athlete'.

Is There Redemption In The NFL?

After a 23 month sentence for federal dog fighting crimes, Vick's ridiculous punishment is over. Well almost over. He'll be on probation for the next 3 years. If you read my previous blog on Vick, then there's no reason to relive why I feel his punishment did not fit the crime.

I have a bone to pick, (not a dogs bone PETA.. don't come and hunt me down) with the people who want to stick him on a cross, douse him with gasoline, light the match and have a barbecue. If I hear one more person say, 'he needs to pay for his crime' I'M GOING TO SCREAM! Last time I checked, prison time meant you paid for your crime. Last time I checked, it was paying your debt to society. The man spent over a year in FEDERAL PRISON, what more do you want him to do? Donate a kidney to a local Humane Society? Or his big toe to PETA? I mean shut up already!

Vick should not have to kiss the tail of PETA, the Humane Society or of you dog obsessed peons. A lifetime ban from the NFL is excessive. Mr. Gooddell, you have kept less desirable people in your institution. Don't be such a hypocrite! If Michael Vick was in any other profession, would there be this much outrage? If this was Brett Favre... ahhhh I won't go there. Anyways. When Leonard Little of the St. Louis Rams killed a HUMAN while driving drunk, did you protest then? What about the multiple athletes convicted of rape, sex with minors and numerous other things way more heinous than dog fighting? Where was the outrage then? Oh..that's right. A dogs life is way more important and precious than a human. That explains why this country had animal right laws BEFORE child cruelty laws. GO FIGURE!

I look foward to seeing Vick back on the field. He was one of the best QB's in the NFL and you're really not playing at your peak if you can't compete with best. Go Vick Go!
